# Can Claude make music? Yes, with Shawarma

Shawarma is a music MCP server at https://shawarma.studio/mcp. You ask Claude for a song in plain words. Claude calls make_song, then change_song for each change, and only that part of the song changes.

## What Claude does

- You ask Claude: "Make a calm song for my morning video." Plain words, like any other ask.
- Claude calls make_song: Shawarma writes the song and sends back a link that plays, and a song Claude can change.
- You ask for changes: "Busier drums." Claude calls change_song, and only the drums change. Ask for the MP3, and Claude calls export_audio.

## Questions

**Can Claude make music?**

Not by itself: Claude writes words and code, not sound. With the Shawarma MCP server added, Claude can make songs you can play, change and export.

**How do I ask Claude to make a song?**

Add Shawarma to Claude once (Claude.ai: Settings, Connectors; Claude Code: one line). Then ask "make a song for my video" and Claude does the rest.

**Can Claude change a song it made?**

Yes. Every song keeps its versions. Ask for busier drums or a longer ending and only that part changes. Ask to go back and the earlier version returns.

**Do I need to pay?**

No. On Free, Claude can write the music code itself and Shawarma checks, saves and plays it. With Pro, Shawarma’s own composer writes the song and you can export MP3 and WAV files.

**Does the song have singing?**

No. Shawarma makes instrumental music only.

**Who owns the songs?**

You own what you make and can use it in your videos and games. Some built-in sounds ask for a credit; the list is on the Terms page.
